Zoom Will Lift 40-Minute Meeting Limit on Thanksgiving Day
COVID-19 came with lots of challenges. One of them was to stay indoors and avoid physical interactions. This situation of lockdown affected the world’s economy a lot, thankfully technology helped in overcoming this challenge by providing various means of communication without getting out of the house. This allowed people to work from their homes and stay connected with their loved ones. One such platform is Zoom.
Zoom is a videotelephony software program developed by Zoom video communications. Its free version allows the connection of 100 devices with a 40-minute time limitation on a call if more than two participants are present. For longer meetings and an increase in the number of participants, the free version can be upgraded to obtain more features with no restriction on the time limit.
This year Zoom announced to lift off this time limit restriction on Thanksgiving Day so that more people can talk to their loved ones as COVID-19 made traveling risky. The 40-minute call is the key feature of Zoom after which the participants have to connect again through another call. This lift-off will start from midnight ET on Nov. 26 through 6 am ET on Nov. 27.
As a thank you to our customers, we will be lifting the 40-minute limit for all meetings globally from midnight ET on Nov. 26 through 6 a.m. ET on Nov. 27 so your family gatherings don’t get cut short. ❤️🏡 #ZoomTogether pic.twitter.com/aubsH0tfxG
