Strawberry baskets
The most nutritious part of this dessert is waffle baskets. You
can buy them or, if you have a waffle maker, bake them at home.
Ingredients:
·
1 cup light whipped cream
·
150 g fat-free Greek yogurt
(plain or vanilla)
·
2 cups chopped strawberries
·
2 cups blueberries
·
6 waffle baskets.
Preparation:
1.
Combine whipped cream and Greek yogurt, whisk with a mixer.
2.
1.
Add strawberries and blueberries to the mixture and stir until
smooth.
2.
Spoon the mixture evenly over the waffle baskets. Garnish
with fresh mint if desired.
3.
The dessert should be consumed within an hour after preparation
(later the waffle cups will become soaked).
The energy value of one basket does not exceed 100 kcal.
Frozen strawberry yogurt
3.
What could be better than a cold dessert in hot summer? Especially
if it’s natural homemade strawberry yogurt! After all, it is not only
low-calorie but also much more useful than purchased counterparts.
Frozen yogurt is better than ice cream because the latter
contains heavy cream, sugar, flavor enhancers and preservatives. We
recommend making it at home since refined sugar is usually added in large
quantities to factory frozen yogurt.
Ingredients:
·
Strawberries – 600 g;
·
Honey – 2 tablespoons;
·
Greek yogurt – half a glass
(100 ml);
·
Freshly squeezed lemon juice –
1 tsp
Preparation:
5.
Wash the strawberries, remove the green parts, cut each berry in
half.
6.
Spread the strawberries evenly on a piece of parchment paper and
place in the freezer overnight, or 4-5 hours.
7.
Place frozen strawberries, honey, Greek yogurt, and lemon juice in
a food processor (or blender).
8.
Bring to a smooth, puree mass. If the strawberries are not
completely chopped, divide the mixture in two and chop them separately. Add
some water if necessary.
9.
Taste and add more honey if desired.
10.
Divide into 4 servings and serve immediately, or transfer to an
airtight container and place in the freezer for 2-3 hours to thicken the
yogurt.
One serving of this strawberry yogurt contains only 99 kcal.
Ingredients:
·
Dark chocolate (60-70%) – 120
g;
·
Chopped roasted pistachios – ½
cup;
·
Strawberries – 12 large berries
(with stalks).
Preparation:
14.
Cover the baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
15.
Place the chocolate in an enamel bowl and heat in a water bath
until the chocolate is completely melted. Remove the bowl from the water
bath and let it cool for 5 minutes.
16.
Place the fried chopped pistachios on a separate plate.
17.
Take a strawberry by the stalk (the green part of the berry) and
dip about 2/3 of the surface of the berry in chocolate, and immediately roll it
in pistachio crumbs. Then place the flower bed on a baking sheet. Do
the same with the rest of the berries.
18.
Wait 10 minutes until the chocolate on the berries hardens.
Pistachios can be replaced with chopped almonds – the calorie
content of the dessert will not change. If you use walnuts, pine nuts,
pecans or macadamias, the calorie content of such strawberries will be slightly
higher.
The calorie content of one such berry is 80 kcal (provided that
you used sugar-free chocolate). Whether this dessert will be low in
calories for you depends on the number of berries you allow yourself to eat
(1-2 strawberries a day will not lead to weight gain).
