This partnership will jointly work on developing apps by using the augmented reality technology of Niantic and the favorite characters of Nintendo.
The first title the two companies will work on is based on the Pikmin franchise. Niantic says, “The app will include gameplay activities to encourage walking and make walking more delightful.” The app will be released later this year. This will be the first title created by their Tokyo Studio since it was first established in 2018.
