Get Ready to Unfold with Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Event on August 11, 2021.
Mark your calendars for August 11 as Samsung is ready to hold another event to unpack some exciting projects in its pipeline. If you are a loyal Samsung customer, you must be guessing the launch of a new Galaxy Note, which the company does in August. The answer is simple… NOPE!! The company hinted at the launch of some foldables and wearables (yes, it is plural) in its upcoming event.
Last Month Dr. TM Roh, President of Samsung Electronics, said that the company will unleash the third generation of foldable Galaxy Z phones that will cover all customer’s needs, from multitasking to durability. Apart from enriching the foldable ecosystem, Samsung also worked on its wearable platform, jointly built with Google.
Foldables
According to the rumor mill, the 8 GB Galaxy Z Flip 3 will have a 6.7-inch display, 10MP selfie camera, and 12 MP Ultra-Wide Camera. It also features Snapdragon 888 CPU. The reports also say that the refresh rate of Z Flip 3 is 120 Hz.
Meanwhile, rumors are that the 12 GB Galaxy Z Fold 3 has similar specifications compared to its existing model. It features a 6.23-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch main display. It will possibly have a 16 MP selfie camera and a 12MP Ultra-Wide camera. This model will have an IPX7 rating for water resistance.
These are all educated guesses based on rumors. For official specifications, we need to wait for the Unpacked event. The only thing which is confirmed is the support for Samsung S Pen. Roh said in the blog post that it has been specifically designed for its foldables.
Wearables
At the MWC event, Samsung confirmed that its upcoming Galaxy Watch 4 will debut its new Wear-OS and its interface will be called one UI. It is likely to come in an active and classic edition. The classic variant will possibly have a rotating bezel and bigger screen with Corning’s Gorilla Glass DX/DX+ protection.
Another announcement expected at the event is the launch of Galaxy buds 2, which is reported to feature a Bluetooth 5.2 chip. It will also feature active noise cancellation, transparency mode, and a simplified battery interface. More color options will be available as suggested by one report.
That’s all we know so far. Samsung’s event will start at 23:00 KST. Don’t forget to add it to your calendar!!
