Corning Introduces Corning Gorilla Glass Victus
Today Corning introduced its latest development in glass technology,
Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. This post is beneficial for those who are in the habit of dropping their smartphones. A new glass technology, which is tougher
and scratch-resistant can make your phone survive even if dropped from six feet
height.
Corning Incorporated is a materials science innovator and
leader in specialty glass, ceramics, and optical physics. Almost every smartphone
of major brands uses glass from Corning Incorporated. The company claims that
this latest breakthrough in glass technology will provide its users with 4x better
performance as compared to other rival aluminosilicate glasses produced by
manufacturers. The company tested the drop performance of mobile glass by
creating a slapper. They asserted that their mini slapper shattered the
competitive aluminosilicate while the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus survived the
drop even after hitting the mega slapper. Corning shared few lab test videos on
their twitter account which were a real joy to watch.
We created the Slapper to test the drop performance of mobile device glass. Where our Mini Slapper destroyed competitive aluminosilicate, not even our Mega Slapper could defeat Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus™.

technology is not totally pocket-proof. Dirt, sand, metal, and other such
materials, when wedged against things like coin and keys, would still cause a scratch.
He says, “I think
those caveats would still apply on any glass material, but what this [Victus]
does for you is reduce those instances quite dramatically.”
Corning Incorporated has always researched and
catered to the needs and demands of its users before coming up with any new glass technology.
It has always tried to set a high bar for its performance. News is that
Samsung would be the first to feature the new glass.
Hopefully the performance of Corning Gorilla
Glass Victus will turn out exactly the same as claimed by the company and the
price of smartphones will remain within our budget and this new technology
will not come out with a premium price tag.
